Physical Therapist Assistant
Job Description:
Position: Physical Therapy Assistant - Geriatric
Salary Range: $29.55 - $31.49 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, no weekend rotation, flexible schedule
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional care to our geriatric patients. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and regain independence. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial evaluations and assessments of patients' physical abilities and limitations
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Physical Therapist
- Assist patients with exercises and therapeutic activities to improve strength, range of motion, and balance
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to continue at home
- Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Flexibility in schedule to accommodate patient needs
