Position: Speech Language Pathologist - Geriatric

Salary Range: $42.06 - $46.22 per hour

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, no weekend rotation

Facility: Skilled nursing facility offering both short term and long term care for geriatric patients

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at our skilled nursing facility. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders in our geriatric patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide the highest quality of care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, and swallowing abilities in geriatric patients

- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient needs

- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to improve speech, language, and swallowing function

- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed

- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and swallowing abilities

- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and effective care for patients

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes

- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans for patients

- Stay current with advancements and changes in speech language pathology through continuing education and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program

- Active state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist

- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients preferred

- Knowledge of and experience with a variety of speech, language, and swallowing disorders in the geriatric population

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
